Scholarship Opportunity: Masters in Forensic Science

This is made available through the Erasmus mundus program which aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between Europe and the rest of the world.

The Erasmus Mundus Masters in Forensic Science is a joint venture between the Universities of Lincoln and Cordoba and the Instituto Superior de Ciencias da Saude Egas Moniz.

Application
Entry Requirements for 2014 application
-Applicants must possess a Bachelor degree in Natural or Applied Sciences from a recognised official Higher Education Institution in order to apply. The candidates need to accredit a minimum grade to access the course, being this 60% (upper second class). In case a percentage is not stated on the official transcript, the candidate will have to supply a certificate from their academic institutions in which percent marks are linked to the different grades awarded by the institution.   
Applicants also need to accredit a sufficient level of English to follow the course using EXCLUSIVELY one of the follow (please check they are under two years old and valid):
IELTS:  Average score of 6.0 , with no element below 5.5
TOEFL internet based:  Average of 87 with minimum scores of: 21-Listening, 22-Reading, 23-Speaking, 21-Writing.
Nationals of countries in which English is an official language will be requested to supply with their General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE) and the English language mark considered in order to accept them in the course

LOCAL OR NATIONAL ENGLISH CERTIFICATES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
NEW! IN ORDER TO REWARD EXCELLENCE, THE SELECTION COMMITTEE WILL CONSIDER EUROPEAN STUDENTS IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/14 . 
 THOSE STUDENTS WITH EXCEPTIONAL CVs AND PROMISING CAREERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. STUDENTS WILL NEED TO SUBMIT THE ELECTRONIC APPLICATION FORM, A MOTIVATION LETTER, PROOF OF REGISTRATION IN A SCIENCE COURSE AND A TRANSCRIPT OF THE MARKS OBTAINED TO THE PRESENT DATE. IN CASE THEY ARE PRE-SELECTED TO COMPETE WITH THE GRADUATES FOR A GRANT THEY WILL BE INTERVIEWED AND THEY WILL HAVE TO COMPLY WITH THE GENERAL ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA IN ORDER TO BE AWARDED A GRANT AS THE REST OF THE CANDIDATES. FINAL OFFERS WILL BE MADE SUBJECTED TO MEETING THEIR FORECASTED GRADES.  
Exceptionally, candidates holding degrees in Engineering, Computer Science and in Social Sciences (Sociology, Psycology,…) meeting the citeria are allowed to apply but degrees in natural, applied and experimental sciences containing mainly biology and chemistry will be favoured in the selection process.  

How to apply
All applications must be made using the University’s postgraduate electronic system. The applications link will be live in June 2014
NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED after the deadline.

Documentation
You will need to upload ALL these documents in the electronic system for your application to be considered. Please, verify this as failure to supply with ALL documents may render your application invalid. Please, note we will check you have done it through your checklist:

 2. A statement of intent explaining their reasons to apply
3. An official copy of your certificate issued by the University/College in its original language (do not send originals). An official certified translation (issued by embassies or official organisms) of the Certificate needs to be attached if the original is not in English.  
4. An official copy of your units transcript issued by the University/College (do not send originals). An official certified translation (issued by embassies or official bodies) of the Certificate needs to be attached if the original is not in English.  
5. An official copy of your English language qualifications with grade obtained if English is not first language.  
6. A photocopy of your passport
7. A CV stating academic and non-academic achievements with previous employment relevant ot the course (if applicable)
8. Two letters of recommendation (references) in English on official letter head and signed (scan copies to be uploaded) 

PLEASE CHECK YOU HAVE COMPLETED AND SUPPLIED ALL THE  8 DOCUMENTS AS INCOMPLETE OR INELEGIBLE APPLICATIONS WILL BE REJECTED AND NOT CONSIDERED. ALL THE DOCUMENTS REQUESTED NEED TO BE UPLOADED AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSABILITY TO MAKE SURE THIS IS THE CASE AS THE UNIVERSITY WILL NOT REQUEST DOCUMENTS FROM YOU.
