The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has suspended its nationwide industrial action as a result of the ongoing battle to tackle Ebola virus disease in Nigeria and to prevent an outbreak.
The announcement was made the National President of the NMA, Dr. Kayode Obembe on Thursday. He said that the body decided to call off the strike to support government in efforts and measures to stop further spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria.
He however affirmed that negotiations on the association's 24-point demand which led to the strike would still continue.
