The ongoing strike called by members of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) has been called off.
This was as a result of an agreement reached at the end of a meeting attended by the leaders of the union and Ministers of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu; and Labour and Productivity, Mr. Emeka Wogu.
Confirming the meeting with the union leaders, Prof. Chukwu told Guardian the meeting was scheduled to hold today.
“The only hope we have that the strike may be called off is that JOHESU
has accepted to meet with Minister of Labour and Productivity and
myself tomorrow (today), Monday by 2 p.m,” he said.
Details of the agreement would be revealed as soon as they are made available.
