The redesign came after months of user research and observing what works on their homepage and ways they can improve.

The new website offers many new features including:

Responsive
This means that it can adjust to any screen size. It automatically optimizes the design of the website for any device (Phones, tablets, computer). This is a very important feature of most websites considering the variety of devices used by people to surf the internet.

Outside the Box

The new homepage provides more space to focus on key features and to provide visitors with quick tips and data related to the feature.

A larger feature area now includes space for tips, data and infographic. This is found on the homepage.

A What's New section also found on the homepage provides an area to highlight key issues and give quick snippets of information.

The homepage smartly brings various news and information that visitors can use as soon as they launch the website. It provides a quick access to a list of outbreaks and news. It has a new section on the page called the "CDC in Action" which provides access to work around the agency. The homepage also brings quick access to content and helps surface many of the most popular topics that users may be interested in.

Announcing and highlighting the changes, the CDC thanked all their users for their feedback. They also requested for more feedback to enable them improve and evolve.
