Lagos to host Nigeria's first e-health summit next week

Nigeria's commercial capital city of Lagos state is set to host the nation's first e-health summit on Thursday September 12, 2013 at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites.

The summit is organized by Anadach Group in partnership with Aajimatics and Global Resources & Projects; and HealthNewsNG is proud to be a media partner for the summit.

According to the organizers, the focus of the summit is on the private sector and would be attended by stakeholders in the e-health sector.

"The summit is expected to be opened by the Nigerian Ministers of Health and Communication and has speakers from the public and private sectors of health, information technology and communications, universities and other relevant stakeholders," Anadach stated.

The theme of the summit is "Understanding Current E-Health Ecosystem in Nigeria and the Role of the Private Sector in Harnessing Potential Opportunities to improve health for all Nigerians."

The organizers said the objectives of the summit are to "facilitate discussions around the development of a private sector led e-health for the country; improve understanding of current e-Health ecosystem  in health care in Nigeria – from government and private sector perspectives; [and] identify key opportunities and constraints in leveraging technology to improve health care delivery in the country."

The agenda for the summit could be downloaded here and participants can register here.

Anadach Group also announced it is organizing The Hospital CEO Forum.

"The theme of the forum is Leading Healthcare Enterprises through Transformational Change.Confirmed include several commissioners of health, leaders of public and private sector hospitals and international guest speakers including Dr Jim Rice, Project Director for the USAID/MSH Governance and Leadership Project and Steve Powell who will be bringing in lessons from the aviation industry that may be relevant to transforming health care," Anadach Group stated.
