An immunisation exercise aimed at eradicating polio disease in Osun will kick off from Saturday March 1. This was disclosed Dr. Kayode Ogunniyi, Director, Primary Health Care and Disease Control, Osun state Ministry of Health.
According to him, the exercise will be a house-to-house Oral Polio Immunisation (OPI) for infants who are between 1 day to 5 years Ogunniyi said this while on an advocacy visit to religious leaders in Osogbo, the state capital.

He said the exercise will last for four days and should be supported by religious leaders in the state. He enjoined them to sensitise their followers with the goal of boosting participation of their members in the exercise.
“I call on all nursing mothers, parents and wards to co-operate with the health workers so that they will benefit from the free services for the children,’’ he said.
Responding, Rev. Niyi Ogundiya, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Alhaji Olayiwola Ajisafe, the Chief Imam of Osogbo, commended the state government for providing quality health for the people.
