The HIFA2015 (Health Information for
All by 2015) campaign was launched in Mombasa, Kenya in October of 2006, at the
10th Congress of the Association for Health Information and
Libraries in Africa.
The shared vision of the initiative is a world where
people are longer dying for lack of healthcare knowledge. The campaign now has
more 10,000 members from more than 2000 organizations in 167 countries that
interact mainly via email discussion forum in three languages, and collaborates
with WHO and other agencies.
The HIFA2015 country Representatives
are volunteers who are committed to help achieve the goal of the campaign in
their country. They are critically important in raising awareness about the
importance of access to healthcare knowledge and engaging new members in their
country to join. They are supported in their work by a volunteer global
coordinator.
The steering group of the HIFA2015 campaign
on 9th March, 2014, announced a Nigerian Nurse, Ekezie Ralueke
Oluchukwu as the HIFA Country Representative of the year 2013. He works as a
Nurse/Care Coordinator at Precious Health Care Ltd, Nigeria.
We congratulate him as he continues
in his work to make health information available to all.
