Jacob Zuma, president of South Africa today announced that the nation's ailing former leader, Nelson Mandela is recording slow but consistent improvement in his health.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the office of the president today.
While the former leader's health is slowly improving, Zuma however added the condition remains critical.
"Former President Nelson Mandela
continues to receive treatment in hospital in Pretoria and doctors have
indicated to President Jacob Zuma that the former president is making a slow
but steady improvement,” the presidency stated.
The presidency added that: “The medical team also reiterated
that although his health was improving steadily, Madiba still remained in a
critical condition.”
Last week, the ailing former president's wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela told Sky
